WHY NCPO LEVERAGES AI
AI empowers our team of experts to assist 15,000 oncologists in identifying FDA-approved treatments beyond standard guidelines and negotiating  access to them.
NCPO uses AI for three crucial jobs.

Identify treatment options
AI orchestrates a patient’s genomic, functional, imaging and clinical signals, including Functional Precision Medicine results, to surface FDA-approved drugs that may work beyond the standard guidelines. No single test assembles this picture.
Obtain access to cancer drugs
AI drafts the medical-necessity documentation, prior-authorization requests, and compassionate-use applications needed to get an off-guideline drug covered. This is heavy, repetitive work.
Learn from every case
AI structures each test, treatment, and outcome into a registry, enhancing test selection and allowing the predictive accuracy of each test to be evaluated and shared over time.
AI assists, experts decide.
Expert-validated. Every AI-generated evidence report is reviewed by qualified scientists and clinicians before reaching an oncologist.

The oncologist decides. AI and NCPO inform the decision. The treating oncologist selects and prescribes, ensuring the patient remains with their own care team.

Measured, not claimed. NCPO does not assert a fixed accuracy figure. Predictive accuracy is tracked through the registered CCCS001 study (NCT07343024) and published as evidence accumulates.

Traceable. Every recommendation can be traced back to the evidence behind it.

NCPO is guided by leaders in oncology, genomics, diagnostics, and AI.

The National Center for Personalized Oncology is a national resource for all US medical oncologists. It was founded in 2026 by Cancer Commons, a 501(c)(3) public charity that has provided personalized guidance to more than 10,000 cancer patients and works with more than 100 oncologists.
