A national personalized oncology resource.



The National Center for Personalized Oncology (NCPO) is a national personalized oncology resource for any US hospital that treats cancer patients, 15,000 medical oncologists, and over 2 million Americans diagnosed each year.
Make all FDA-approved cancer drugs available to every cancer patient.
That is NCPO's mission. Not new drugs decades away, but the 300+ that exist today, unlocked for patients whose guidelines have run out, prescribed by their own oncologist, wherever they are treated.

The vision: a future in which cancer is a managed, chronic disease, and a patient's options no longer depend on where they happen to be treated.

The enabling approach is called Functional Precision Medicine and works at any line of treatment. NCPO exists so that capability reaches all of oncology, not only the hospitals that adopt first.


WHAT NCPO DOES

NCPO does the research and access work to make personalized oncology accessible today.

FOR PATIENTS
A new-treatments resource
Access to approved cancer drugs tailored to each patient's cancer, without travel or trial requirements. Outcomes are tracked to enhance evidence with each patient.
FOR ONCOLOGISTS
An expertise resource
PhD-level scientific staff interprets test results and payer-access experts deal with coverage and insurance documentation, at any point in treatment, for any patient.
FOR HOSPITALS
A cost-savings resource
NCPO enables personalized oncology without cost to hospitals, offering lab relationships, scientific staff, and payer processes. Hospitals use their own pathology and oncologists.
NCPO's work is free to the hospital and to the oncologist.
The tests and the drugs are not.
That is the access gap NCPO exists to fill.
TWO ORGANIZATIONS, ONE PATIENT

Founded by Cancer Commons.

The National Center for Personalized Oncology is founded by Cancer Commons, a 501(c)(3) public charity operating that has provided personalized guidance to more than 10,000 cancer patients and works with more than 100 oncologists.
Cancer Commons works with patients
The nonprofit that founded NCPO. Since 2011, Cancer Commons has guided cancer patients, with free help from PhD scientists. It runs the CCCS001 clinical study, in which patients participate with their own oncologist, anywhere in the United States. The study measures, and will publish, the predictive accuracy of each functional test.
NCPO works with oncologists
Independent 501(c)(3) spin-out. Oncologist-facing and payer-facing. Scientific evidence: matching patients to functional tests and producing expert-validated reports. Financial access: payer negotiation, medical-necessity documentation, compassionate use.
